It seems a shame the women don't at least do 2 finishing circuits, as it is there's a long gap between the next to last climb and the final one which comes very close to the finish. Would give more opportunity for the climbers to forge something from further out.

Specialized must be happy. Colder weather today, orange frames!

PFP looking strong. Do we think after a poor year she's finally going to be on form for the XC?

If ever there was a collection of riders not to let go up the road, that would be it!
The Aussie girl sitting on the back isn't winning herself any friends though.

Getting irked by the commentator saying "Marianna" instead of Marianne.

Grrr.

She is actually Marianna, that's the Dutch pronunciation in spite of the spelling. She answers to either though.

Still remember riding with her at RideLondon in 2014 and a string of guys sitting on her wheel all grimacing as they tried to hang in there. Most amusing. ๐Ÿ™‚

Rubbish bbc coverage, swapping from 1 to 2 with a big gap, so they can update us with some swimmers p.b at a crucial stage

Just as hard to call as the men's.

Harder actually as there's much less chance to see the women in action normally, so I know less about them.

Spirited ride from the other Dutch lass.

Completely corrected. The e at the end is pronounced in Flemish, Dutch and German ๐Ÿ™‚

Trying to keep up to date on BBC live text, if someone could do the same on here it'd be much appreciated, otherwise I'll probably get one more before the finish....

This is a similar scenario to yesterday with Majka. Wonder if Mara Abbot can hang on to this, she properly deserves it.

I wouldn't want to be the winner after that.
Here's hoping it's just a broken collar bone, but it looked incredibly serious. ๐Ÿ˜ฅ
