Phenomenal ride by Doull to get back on the wheel after his effort. I thought it was all over when he dropped off, but that Won them the gold.

Despite liking him in the past, Personally I think Wiggins in coming across like a bit of a ****t at the moment, things like sticking out your tongue doesn't sit well now he's older. . Suddenly Froome's more recitant demeanour seems much more preferable!

'With great wattage comes great responsibility'

Great effort from all though, exciting stuff.

Bit of sly stirring from the French sprint team...

"I'm not in their camp, in their country, I don’t know how it works, I don’t know what goes on. I have a inkling about certain things but I’m going to shut up because it’s not good to speak in the heat of the moment,” added France’s man-three in what was a cryptic interview"

The headline says "Wiggins wins gold". There were three others in that team.

I noticed he sat down away from everybody at the end so that the rest of the team could get interview time. I think he knew all the concentration with be on him, either that , or he was proper knackered 😆

What's the thinking in starting the sprint pedals level for Track?

Anyone know where we can see a full replay of the men's team pursuit final from last night?

My wife would like to watch it and I advised her to stay off social media so she wouldn't know the result. There's only the last bit of the race on the iPlayer highlights package and I think you need to see the full thing for extra tension.

I watched a full replay on the BBC news site. Was embedded in one of the reports. It was more or less full thing, maybe missing the start, I don't remember exactly.

Found it again. Third video down here. The start is missed but most of it shown.

Only place I found it was on iPlayer - a full replay of yesterday's cycling track. I had to fast forward 3 hours of it!
Unfortunately it missed off the interviews (you could see them being interviewed in the background, but it wasn't the BBC1 footage).

How much travel on the durney(sp) bike?!

is the durney just there to give the leader rider something to draft while they get up to speed? Or are they there to limit speed for some reason?

Limit the speed, it sets the pace 60km/h men 55km/h for Women

I suppose the travel is needed for riding over bodies on the track

Indeed, great achievement on the track - then why behave like a tit? He's not 6....

Good job the medal is only about being fast on a bike!

Thanks jwray & alexsimon. Had to find it in the full broadcast as the excerpt in the news story gives the result away with its title.

🙂

Well that's how to answer a new American World Record.

Dear Team America,
Hope you enjoyed having the World Record for all of about 6 minutes.
Love,
Team GB

Can't wait for the final tonight, I love the Team Pursuit. 🙂

+1

Wiggins is very much "here to build my brand / image / post-cycling career"

Froome is more "here to finish the job for the team and win races"

It is. They're awful. More difficult to control than the 2-stroke ones with the small pedals, no noise and therefore no atmosphere.

The little 2-strokes build up in tone, as the buzzing gets higher pitched and builds the tension up nicely.

Mudguards?

Safety - you look at the actual bike and it's got some proper steel guards so if the rider behind actually bumps their front tyre into the derny it just bounces harmlessly off the guard.

The dernys at Manchester all have scuff marks up the back of their guards. 🙂

The poor Italians, that one just fell to pieces. It's heartbreaking to see 2 teammates disappearing up the track and you can't do a thing about it.
