hello single track, my shed was burgled for a second time last night, crow bars and cutting gear were used to get through my recently beefed up security, only recently replaced these after having my shed burgled before xmas, so as you can imagine feeling gutted.
here are the bikes

Let LBS know, give them the frame numbers etc.. you never know someone might pop in for a repair a few months down the line.

Or give up keeping bikes in the shed, houses are for bikes, sheds are for spades and lawnmowers

Cheers Mike, think I'll be needing that frame quicker than expected.

Lol bland, I wish my Mrs would see it that way.

The frustrating thing is, that my shed doors were fixed with coach bolts, expensive padlock on the door, bikes were d locked together,d locks through the shed wall, kryptonite cables, 1.5 inch solid chain from the d locks and around the bikes, around 300 quid worth of cables padlock s and locks and they have gone through it like it wasn't there.

My window is 15 feet from the shed, it amazes me that they have got through all this without dogs barking, or me or the Mrs hearing anything.

Just goes to show.

Cheers cougar I'm now thinking of hiring one of the steel shipping crates that you see around, but I'm starting to think that once these scrum bags know that your a rider and are likely to have bikes, are you ever safe ? Maybe they would wait until we go out and come round with blow torches and cutting gear lol.

While we are on the subject, what do you guys use to secure your bikes is there a really secure method to keep your bike safe?

How far do you really need to go?

Sounds like you had alot of locks. A piercing hidden alarm?

Although in the house from now on?

Will keep a lookout

I am moving back to a busy area in a few weeks and trying to decide the best security, as mine will be in a shed unfortunately. Admittedly it won't be easy to get to but as can be seen they'll do anything. Any good and cheap alarms? A security light is also a good idea I think

Recommendations welcome

Sorry to hear of your theft. It maybe worth contacting your local crime prevention to see what they can suggest which may help.

Really sorry to hear this. There are few things more infuriating than that sinking feeling of seeing your bikes gone.

As well as ebay/gumtree its worth doing a tour of any local Cash Convertor type shops, particularly the ones in less salubrious areas.

Good calls, hadn't given much thought to a shed alarm, I'll look into this for the future, although I won't be keeping my prized possession in the shed from now on

frecking scumbags, wouldn't you just love to catch them at it, wonder what you could get away with claiming self defense.

Was going to suggest an alarm, or better still, keep them in the house.

I am only in Tamworth, so will keep an eye out also. Hope they find their way back to you....

I live in Briz Valley so will keep my eye out this side of the Trent but being distinctive bikes and a professional job by the sounds of it, I guess they will be stripped down to parts.

I keep mine in the shed locked with an abus chain and ground ancor also have a shed alarm with a speaker in the house. Baby monitors are also a cheap solution.

If you put them in the house there's a good chance they'll just break into there when your not in. The fu****s have no shame and seem fearless .

I feel for you , would make me feel sick knowing that I'm been watched/targeted.

I feel for you mate. I have had 10k worth of bikes stolen in 8 months in two different robberies. I was obviously being watched as well and they came armed with an angle grinder on the second attempt and destroyed my garage door and cut the locks off the ground anchor.

Im sorry to say i dont think there is much you can do against theives hell bent on getting your bikes in garages, sheds or out houses. What ever security you have they just come tooled up for it and that coupled with the lack of police intrest makes it open season on bikes.

We moved as a result of this (my GF didnt feel safe there anymore) and my bikes are now under my house.

I will keep an eye on the forums and ebay etc

Scumbags. Sorry to hear mate. I'm in Stafford and ride Cannock regularly so will keep an eye out.

I'm seriously thinking about beefing my shed security up with extra heavy duty motorcycle chain and some sort of alarm.

Any good and cheap alarms?

Why cheap? I'm assuming that you're wanting to keep expensive bikes safe so why do locks/alarms/less glamourous things have to be cheap?

Sorry about your loss OP - sounds like they were well secured but equally sounds like the theives were tooled up with the level of security you had expected. Could they have scoped the level of security out previously - looking through windows etc?

I'm soo glad my bikes live in a bombproof (literally!) cellar...

Thanks for the responses guys,I'm unsure to be honest Davey boy how they knew they were in there, makes you feel slightly paranoid!!!

Someone above mentioned that thieves sometimes return so I'm thinking it's something along those lines.

No Windows in shed so they couldn't have known what level of locks and security I had.

Worrying to think that there's scum bags wandering about my place of residence with crow bars and cutting gear.

With today's tech you'd of thought that someone would have come up with something like a GPS you could attach inside of the frame and you could find it wherever . My phones got it .

Your phone also has a power source, and probably still needs charging every evening. Which is where the whole thing falls down, unfortunately.

I suspect that when somebody finally solves that problem, it'll make them very very rich indeed

Lapierre are doing eletronic suspension aren't they ? That'll need charging up so the tech can't be that far away .

I think once you are a marked target they will always have their eye on you unfortunately and hence my most favoured method "is out of sight out of mind!". So dont carry bikes on a rack, roof etc but in the car instead.

Id worry about the wife not feeling safe once it had happened and all of the consequences which come with that.

Sorry for your lost. This isnt very comforting but have a police lady that lives next to me.They raided a house in Cheltenham couple of years back and the thieves had a map on the wall with all the houses they have done and when they had returned or were going too.GET AN AlARM works a treat.Hope you get them back.

gbm1 there is a device that fits inside your headtube with gps tracker. They do a back light too. When armed it texts you if bike moves and i think you can track it whenever its moving.

Here: http://www.integratedtrackers.com/GPSTrack/

I emailed them about doing maybe a group buy for folks on here but never got a reply.
