Just so out of touch, he has mailed me saying he is about to buy a Fuji Tahoe 1
Just a quick peek and I'm looking at a Cube Ltd Team and Boardman HT Pro.
He has been riding my old Giant XTC with Skareb 80mm. That's all he needs and loves it.
Any ideas for a replacement?
Was looking at this today, if I needed a new bike and had 1k then I reckon this would be the one.

Mackem I went to On-One first, but there's never stock.
It looks like the firstwo I came across are pretty good contenders -
Cube Ltd Race
Boardman HT Pro
Thing is he isn't a mountainbiker like the folk on here. He is a fit bloke, and my old 80mm Giant XTC hardtail was absolutely spot on for him.
Two things, the Boardman is now 120mm up front, too much for him? and it's also 2 X 10. Is that okay for what is essentialy a leisure rider?
I'd point him the Cube way as it's akin to what he has had, and it'll be better on the road.
Boardmans look good. What about a Canyon? Or a Genesis?
Just got email from cycle surgery, their end of season offers look good.
For example...

or a Giant XTC...

Again....Canyon? £900 delivered, this is a properly good set-up.

If he thinks he might get properly into the sport then get the Canyon or the Giant. Otherwise that Trek is prob all he needs at £750.
