I've recently bought some suntour durolux 170mm forks, with the intention of reducing them to 150mm travel. However, forks arrived with a hole in the box and no travel reducing spacers.
I'm now pondering whether to give them a go at 170mm.ย Frame is a 2019 orange stage 5 (140mm fork rating with 135mm rear travel) .
Is this a stupid idea?
I've got a 2020 running 150mm and you'd think it was made for that length so you might be okay?
The Durolux has quite a big A2C from memory so at 170mm it'll be a lot longer than a 140mm Fox/Rockshox fork and probably not do it any favours.
I ran 170mm forks on the original Stage 6 and it was brill (+10mm recommended).
But +30mm is highly likely to be awful.
You can always chuck and angleset in the Five to help drop the front a bit (and slacken it out as well)
