A couple of Qs about 15/20mm front hubs
- 15mm ones are 100mm wide, what width are 20mm ones?
- will 15mm adaptors all work in all 20mm hubs?
I've bought a 15mm fork and need a new hub but ideally I'd rather get a 20mm one with 15mm adaptors as that's more versatile in the long run.

HOPE Pro 2 - does it all
Halo spin doc does it all ๐
But the Halo spin doc does not work properly in the 15mm setting for the forks clubber has bought. I know because i've got the same forks running on a Halo Freedom wheel. The thru axle uses an expanding wedge system which re-expands after it clears the first adaptor and then won't go through the next one. You have to poke it through with a stick or screwdriver. I'm currently working on solutions but can't find the 20mm plastic pipe with 15mm internal diameter that i need to 'shim' the hub.
Don't know if the Hope has a continuous internal 15mm shaft or uses two end adaptors like the Halo does?
Other than Shimano, it seems that all the 15mm hubs I've seen don't have a continuous tube so that's just something I may have to live with.
I'm off to the B&Q megastore later to hunt down an illusive 20mm diameter bit of plumbing pipe. I'll let you know if i find a solution. So far only found 19mm and 22mm.
Just means i'd best not get a puncture in the front wheel....
Surely a short length of wood dowel (from b&q) will work as a "poker"?
If it's still an issue I'll get some tubes machined at work and get one to you
I think that the OLD of 20mm front hubs is 110mm.
Halo uses 20mm through piece flaoting between each outer bearing, it spins freely, pop the 15mm converters which are identical to a Hope pro 2 type conversion into the bearings and away you go.
Works flawless for me and some Mazocchi 44 TST 29ers with 15 bolt through
