New frame takes a 142 and my Hope Pro 2 has a 135mm Maxle. I can find axle converters but is there an adapter for the stepup in size maxle?

If it's standard pro 2 not evo, you'll need a new axle and new end caps... And the new axle is allegedly a bit pants so you're better of getting the whole pro 2 to evo conversion kit... Having said that both my standard pro 2 142 axles are doing just fine

No, you'll need a longer one AFAIK.
