Now have 1 bike with 10sp on it- shimano/sram. What type of powerlinks can i use on it in case of emergency chain snaps etc? Any recommendations?

Sram powerlock.You're only supposed to use them once though.

the sram ones i got from my lbs are to be used with a tool and i couldn't join them even with pliers. the mechanic said to stamp on the pedals.
i purchased some kmc powerlinks instead, much easier and reusable.

Any link designed for 10spd - I use KMC, reusable.
Never had a problem reusing SRAM links though.

The Wipperman ones work well too. reusable also.

The SRAM ones are not intended to be reused, irrespective of whether people have.
KMC work for me.
