Hi, I currently run 3 x 10 on my HT and considering running 1 x 10 for short XC races and duathlons.
I would use the 34T Q ring they now do for SS, with a long cage SLX clutch mech to reduce chain slap/slop.
Any one any thoughts or experience on 1 x 10 and also using the 34 T Q ring?
Many thanks.
No one? ๐
26er or 29er, as it makes a big difference to gear ratios.
Potentially too small for 26, too big for 29.
I use a 34T BETD One Key ring on my 650 race bike, coupled to an 11-36 cassette. It's perfect (for me) on all the UK race courses. You don't need a long cage, I run a short cage with mrp 1x chain guide. Really want the Rotor Rex 1.1 narrow wide elliptical but its sooooo expensive!
Yeah that Rotor Rex 1.1 looks great, what's the UK price?
Its a 29er. I curently run Q Rings on it as a 3 x 10 so would like to stick to Q Ring but it only comes in a 34T.
What are your triple ring sizes and how do you use them/feel about them?
I'd probably go 32t on a 29er myself.
36 was good on 26" wheels, but I very very rarely spun out, and a slightly lower gear would have been more useful more often than a slightly taller one!
On the triple I run 42/32/24 and pretty much only sit in the middle ring and spin. I have a double on a different bike thats not Q rings and run 39/26 and rarely go in the bottom.
Hi
I ride a 29er Anthem x 1 by 10.
36t oval from betd up front with 11/32 rear with clutch mech.
It works perfect for me racing and any where else ive ridden.
I have not found a need yet for anything different.
All depends on how fit you are.
