Obviously there’s a catch…

Evil Following V1 in XL, frame bearings all good, headset bearings brand spangly new. Fitted with a works components -2 degree headset.

Hope PF41 bottom bracket (BB92 shimano standard) bearings are shot and need to be replaced, currently fitted with a GXP adapter.

Shock is the monarch RT3 supplied as standard on these, all good, serviced September ish of last year, probably had 5 or six rides since then before it went into the garage.

It is small by modern XL standards – it wasn’t a big XL back when it was the new kid on the block to be honest and that’s why it’s going, I’m reasonably tall (6’4”) and it’s just too small for me.

It is great fun to ride and for short shuttly runs in the woods I love it, where it doesn’t excel for me is on longer pedally days where it feels cramped on long drags and really that’s where I’d rather be spending my time so time for it to go.

So here’s the catch…

I stripped it to sell back in December, bit of a nasty scuff on the tape on the NDS seat stay, peel it off to clean up, yeah its not a scuff it’s a crack, I think I did it a couple of years ago and been riding it like that since but equally it could have been on the last ride out. Very annoyed at this point I pulled more of the tape off and much of the paint (the paint on these is made of particularly crumbly Cheshire cheese) on the down tube with it (the big black smudge is a finger print from today, its not there anymore but its dark and frankly a fingerprint is the least of the cosmetic woes)

I ordered a carbon repair kit to give it a go – nothing to lose at this point – realised it was never going to cure in winter so hung it up and left it with the intention of sorting it out and using it come summer. Instead, I bought a new bike.

So here it is, “drastically reduced” from the price I wanted to sell it at, hopefully someone can put it to use, either repair it or shrug and ride it as is.

It is a well-loved, well used mtb frame so even without the above there are scuffs, scrapes and chips, including a couple of big ones I’ve badly touched up from years back (6 to be exact, got them at ard rock a week before I got married) to the paint work as you’d expect, I’ve tried to show them as best I can.

As well as the repair kit I’ve various spares abouts which I’ll dig out and include with the sale, a small bottle of touch-up paint, spare mech hanger, that sort of thing.

Seat post not included in the sale. Sale is for frame, BB, Shock, Headset and seat clamp.

Collection (HG5) preferred because obviously it’s a PITA to ship and would be helpful if you can see it given the damage but happy to talk shipping if needs be.
