Simba Hybrid King Size Mattress & Duvet
- Price: ยฃ899.99 mattress, ยฃ139.99 duvet
- From: Simba

Fresh Goods comes with an open invite to brands and distributors to send us their latest gear. We don’t impose fees or conditions on that invite. Our goal is to show you everything that turns up. And so it is with this large package that arrived from mattress company Simba, who are clearly in the midst of a huge promotion campaign right now.
They offered us this stuff, and well, considering there are fewer of you out there who actually ride bikes regularly than there are those of you who actually sleep, we thought, why not? We all sleep.
The mattress is a 25cm thick hybrid of foam and metal springs in 9 layers and Simba claim the special top layer of graphite infused foam conducts heat away from your body to prevent over heating. The top layer of the mattress is removable and washable. The duvet is a tog 10.5 duvet and the claim is it leads to a cooler sleep.
But there’s more
Along with the mattress and duvet, Simba sent us these slippers. Yup!

These slippers are not just ordinary slippers. Oh no! They apparently have reflexology bumps all built in to exactly the right places to massage your feet before you go to bed. Oh yes! There’s 9 pressure points and these ROK slippers are good for outside as well as inside. So you can safely do your shopping in your onesie and your slippers if that’s your thing.
To Review or not to Review?
That is the question. We are obviously going to put them to the test. Mark has already claimed them and installed them at home. Do you want to see a full review of a mattress, duvet and slippers? Logged-in users can vote below…

Just make sure to add a colourful luggage tag or other rad riders will pick it up by accident, as everyone has one! (Ask us how we knowโฆ)

Maxxis Crossmark II
- Price: ยฃ54.99
- From: Freewheel

In a world of more and more aggressive treads, itโs good to see that the Maxxis Crossmark is still out there. [Although not in the original Christophe Sauser ‘Swiss-flag-plus symbol’ tastic incarnation – Rubber Ed.] Given a mud-free world, it has enough tread for a rear tyre all year and can be run front and rear in the summer. Itโs fast and surprisingly grippy, comes in 27.5, 29 and 2.1in and 2.25in widths.

Tapered and supported knob elements are designed to ease the interaction between stud and soil. Benefit: High mechanical grip and superb self-cleaning properties. Supersoft BlackChili Gravity compound. DH casing: 4-ply (110TPI) sidewall, 6-ply (110 TPI) under the tread.

The important detail is who won the fight to test the mattress and duvet? Takes sleeping on the job to a whole new level
I do like the look of that Megamo bike ? Shame about the brand name!
If Maxxis read this, please can we have a Crossmark 2 and/or a Minion SS in 2.5″ EXO versions? Thanks.
So Benji is willing to to a video review of how the mattress, er, performs?
I like it too, the angles and the way it lookjs lioned up pleases me on a deep level. Butt… It’s an e-bike and that’s not something I am looking for right now.
The megamo looks like it has a Really short dropper post insertion. What length dropped does it fit?
The conti tires must have the rolling resistance of a tractor tire. If it was conditions to use that I’d be staying inside. I wouldn’t fancy pedaling them about 😱.
Maybe it’s because I don’t race. Maybe it’s because i don’t have an e bike.
They would like good on the front of a Motocross bike at propper muddy Motocross track.
I think that’s why they haven’t bothered to make the hydrotal in anything other than the DH casing!
The Megamo looks good, would like to see a review of the base model AL version at some point, full spec motor and battery for a quid under five grand
review the slippers but as riding shoes
review the mattress, but as a crash mat gir practicing backflipsย
I’d absolutely love a rainy day on the Pleney steeps with a pair of those Hydrotals.
Probably wouldn’t bother with them anywhere else.
I used to really like the Crossmark II as a rear tyre on my first 29er (Whyte T-129) back in t’day – the thing is the new(ish) Forekaster V2 rolls so well, I don’t know if it would really be worth swapping one on for the “summer" on my current XC steed?
In DH casing!
-Sound of velcro slowly peeling echos though the forest-
I’m not sure I’ve even got the legs for that on the plenty steeps with a ski lift.
We spend a third of our lives in bed. Anything that helps that third be better is a good thing – review away.
That Megamo is one good looking bike. ยฃ7k is a stack of cash, but it looks thoughtfully specc’ed. The kind of components most of us actually suit, rather than aspire to (36s over 38s, FloatX over X2, Performance Elite over Factory, etc).
Ogio Crawler Bag – how do you know?
So they’re not even pretending it’s a 250W ebike compliant motor now?ย
@tthew the 250w thing is not about peak power. Never has been. Most eebs give out over 600w peak power. The 250w rating is a bizarro overheating test thing.
That Megamo looks nice in that blue, my mate is waiting to check them out at Team Cycles. Looking forward to his thoughts he’s become quite the eeb aficionado. Agreed on the name though, seems a bit naff.
