Amanda is our resident pedaller, who loves the climbs as much as the descents. No genre of biking is turned down, though she is happiest when at the top of a mountain with a wild descent ahead of her. If you ever want a chat about concussion recovery, dealing with a Womb of Doom or how best to fuel an endurance XC race, she's the one to email.

Last week I managed to do one worse than this. 110km with 3,565m ascent. Doubt I’ll ever write a column about it, as I’m scarred for life

@matt_outandabout that’s my favourite UK climb! I’d probably write about that 😂 Last week I went up the highest paved road in the Alps, and to get to it I had to go over a really big (but beautiful) mountain. Have taken to measuring climbs in ‘how many Cragg Vale’s is this?’
