Peanut Butter Squares Recipe

Rick Hamilton shares his popular peanut butter squares recipe, having fuelled the Slymefoot Slide route with them. I got this recipe from my friend Louise. These are fabulously dense and calorific trail snacks, perfect for mountaineering and mountain biking. Nobody complains if you take them to the pub, either. Recipe makes around 36 squares 400g pack of digestive biscuits300g jar of crunchy peanut butter (or smooth, if you’re a pervert)250g block of butter (or vegan alternative)230g light brown sugar300g 70% dark chocolate (or milk choc if that’s your bag)1 tsp vanilla extract Line a 25cm square baking tin or similar...

I love peanut butter and chocolate. That looks amazing and a blindingly obvious idea, why did I not think of this/find the recipe sooner!

I know what I’m gonna be doing one day this week.

Looks excellent, although as I’m not a huge fan of digestive biscuit bases, I’ll be substituting them with Lotus Biscoffs instead when I make it very shortly

This recipe from Nigella Lawson’s Domestic Goddess book for Reese-like peanut butter squares is delicious.

Though a biscuit base sounds more portable.

I made this the other night and it’s really nice. I never make stuff like this and I liked doing it.
