Aran Francis is giving teenagers – and cyclists – a good name. What has this keen enduro rider learnt from riding for a cargo bike delivery service? This morning I got up ready to go for a ride, but instead of putting on my knee pads and body armour ready to throw myself down yet another hill, I put on a high-vis jacket and swung my leg over a cargo bike, as I have been…

I came to Singletrack having decided there must be more to life than meetings. I like all bikes, but especially unusual ones.
More than bikes, I like what bikes do. I think that they link people and places; that cycling creates a connection between us and our environment; bikes create communities; deliver freedom; bring joy; and improve fitness. They're environmentally friendly and create friendly environments.
I try to write about all these things in the hope that others might discover the joy of bikes too.
They never lose their charm. I’ve been on the highest roads in the valley, during sideways hail, and been giggling at how content I am plodding along on a cargo bike. Great write-up, Aran!
There MIGHT be one around a certain North Wales power station called the Pashley Loadstar Stores Grand Prix, but it’s not exactly publicly accessible so the KoM will never get taken off me the current holder.
I’m seriously considering an Ecargo bike when I retire.
It’ll replace the car, and i can go as far as i like with doggo in it. Or camping.
Shopping.
Exercise, getting a 50kg bike out the shed will be a workout in its own right.
@Matthew Hornby I haven’t tried it on anything gnarlier than a bridleway track, in fear of damaging it, but I did find that it gripped quite well today in the wet thanks I guess to it being so heavy.
