- From: Únic
Here’s just a small sample of the custom riding kit that Únic has sent over for us to try. Únic is a new company based in Andorra that specialises in making custom riding clothing that’s easily designed online through their unique Únic online tool. There are lots of designs to choose from, different materials too and you get to choose your colours, logos and even add a name on the back of jerseys.
Each item of clothing is made to order in Europe and each offers neat MTB specific features such as ratchet waist adjustment, zip pockets, padded and water-resistant phone pocket e.t.c.
As I don’t have anyone to hold the camera to shoot me wearing the kit these pics will have to do for now, but keep an eye out for our full review.

- From: Production Privée
The latest version of Production Privée Shan No5 full-suspension bike has entered the building! It’s a full steel full-suspension rig but updated to suit either 29in wheels or 27.5in x 2.5in (but you’ll need to change the shock link to convert it). Full build coming soon, but if you want to know more about Production Privée read Andi’s story on Forestal here.

2020 Focus Jam² 6.7 Plus
- Price: £3,999
- From: Focus
This 2020 version of the Focus Jam² has been ordered so we can compare it to the Shimano powered version of the bike listed below. Mark has a few Top Gear style challenges in store for this duo of battery-powered bikes so keep an eye out for updates.
As well as offering the new Bosch Gen 4 motor on the new Jam² Focus has also upped the battery size on this bike to 625Wh. This model has shipped with 27.5+ wheels but the frame and fork will accept 29in wheels if you prefer.
2019 Focus Jam² 6.9 Drifter
- Price: 2019 model
- From: Focus
Focus has also sent us a Shimano powered version of the Jam to test, and although similar to the 2020 bike this is the Drifter model meaning it gets a 29in wheel on the front. Shimano powered Focus bikes are lighter weight due to a smaller battery, but we’ll be testing these two bikes and motor systems head to head to see which is best.
Endura MT500 Full Face Helmet
- Price: £189.99
- From: Endura
This is Endura’s first full-face helmet which launched during this summer. The helmet promises to provide all the protection benefits of a downhill certified helmet, but at a lighter weight so it can be worn all day long. The MT500 features the same energy-absorbing Koroyd insert as the MT500 trail helmet Andi reviewed a few years ago.
Juice Lubes Frame Juice
- Price: £8.99
- From: Juice Lubes
Juice Lubes has formulated this blueberry scented liquid that promises to restore the matt finish of your frame back to new. The mixture works on paint, vinyl and plastic to give a ‘good-as-new’ finish. This sounds like just the stuff to use on your bike after those wet, gritty, winter rides which tend to wear your top-tube finish down.
Wheels MFG Press Fit BB

Please, please use a different photo for the Production Privée frame. Seeing it clamped to the stand where the shock would sit is giving me a nervous twitch….. : /
Love the Martini Livery Style paint job on the Shan Privee frame.
Seeing “2.8” and “29er” written one after another almost made me choke on a sandwich. False hopes…
TUNE
False hopes indeed. The industry is still way behind consumers wanting “British Plus (and a bit)” 2.8. On the subject of PP, I emailed them asking why Pressfit and the response was they feel it’s the best standard. What a shame.
I’d be all over the PP if it had a proper bottom bracket…
I love my Shan No 5, but you should be aware that the main pivot also uses a PF92 (non GXP) BB as it’s bearing, so you have twice the fun! I swapped to a larger frame recently and the main pivot had seized close to solid…
