If Vitus’ new alloy XC bikes aren’t your thing, then what about some new trail and enduro full-suspension bikes? And what about Fox Suspension on these bikes for the first time ever? Yup, sounds pretty good to us too.
3 bikes in the Vitus range will come equipped with Fox suspension for the coming year those being the 140mm travel Escarpe 27 VRX, Escarpe 29 VRX and full carbon, 170mm travel Sommet CRX.
In typical Vitus style, each Fox equipped bike receives keen pricing with the top end Escarpe’s costing just £2999.99 while the carbon Sommet CRX sits in the range at £3499.99.
Vitus Escarpe 27 VRX – £2999.99
Visually the Escarpe 27 VRX receives a new paint job, but the alloy frame remains unchanged from the current model. Made from 6061-T6 alloy, this version of the Escarpe runs on 27.5inch wheels boasts 140mm of rear travel and 150mm travel up front.
While priced at £2999.99, the Escarpe VRX features high-end Fox Factory suspension both front and rear. A Fox 36 FIT Grip 2 Factory up front and Fox DPX2 Factory rear shock are seldom seen on bikes under £3000.
Shimano XT handles 1×11 shifting, brakes are powerful SRAM Guide RE stoppers with front 200mm rotor and 180mm rear, while DT Swiss M1700 Spline 30mm rims are tough options matching the hard riding nature of the Escarpe.

Vitus Escarpe 29 VRX – £2999.99
Again we have a 6061-T6 alloy frame fitted with a Fox DPX2 Factory rear shock and Fox 36 FIT GRIP 2 Factory fork with 150mm travel, and once again the 1×11 drivetrain is a Shimano XT set-up. But this is the larger wheeled 29er for those riders who really want to scream down the trail.

If you must have carbon and you’ve got to have 170mm of travel then the Vitus Sommet CRX is the model to have. Specifications read practically the same as the top end Fox fitted Escarpe bikes, only with a stiffer carbon frame and 30mm more travel up front, oh and you get decent rubber too.

Well that bike at £2099.99 would be a right bargain, unfortunately looks a missprice
