Breaking News: Singletrack7 Event Cancelled – forestry operations destroy trails

by 3

We’ve just received the following notice from the organisers of the Singletrack7 event:

It is with much regret and disappointment that we have had to make the difficult decision to cancel this year’s edition of the Singletrack7.

On a recent site visit we found that there has been extensive forestry operations in much of the woodlands on the estate which has pretty much destroyed the trails we were going to use.

It simply isn’t possible for us to reinstate the trails in time for the event and there isn’t enough time to find a suitable alternative venue.

We would like to offer you the choice of either receiving a refund of your full entry fee or a deferment to next year’s event. Please simply reply to this mail stating which option you would like to go for and we will take care of the rest.

Thank you for your support of the event & we hope to see you at the 2019 edition.

…more news as we get it, but it’s certainly a disappointment – last year was lots of fun.

I came to Singletrack having decided there must be more to life than meetings. I like all bikes, but especially unusual ones. More than bikes, I like what bikes do. I think that they link people and places; that cycling creates a connection between us and our environment; bikes create communities; deliver freedom; bring joy; and improve fitness. They're environmentally friendly and create friendly environments. I try to write about all these things in the hope that others might discover the joy of bikes too.
