Scott MTB-Marathon: South To North.

by 0

Here’s the latest news from the Scott-MTB Marathon team, who bravely ventured south (well, nearly south – it’s not quite below the M4) for the Wantage event – with great success it seems, as they even impressed the Mayor. Back on home ground in Ruthin for the next round though – and there’s a cracking prize draw on offer for new entries, so get clicking.

'Tis true, it's all flat down there…

Round Four – Wantage, Oxfordshire.

“A week ago today we nervously loaded vans and trailers and headed south east in the hope that our fans would follow us to the arable lands of Oxfordshire, well they did… in droves… in fact Round 4 is the most successful marathon to date! The town of Wantage welcomed us with open arms, as did the farmers and other trail users. Almost 800 riders tackled the multiple distances with the youngest being 5 years old, the oldest 70 odd with a couple of Olympians and a British champ thrown in for good measure.

Happy campers.

We’re not going to harp on about the great feedback – we will let it speak for itself…

unnamed(4)And this is what the Mayor of Wantage had to say…

“Just to say I was really impressed with the way you organised the MTB event in Wantage and evidently Wantage will be delighted to welcome you back for a whole weekend of cycling in 2016. We have had numerous complaints from people who say they did not know about the event so expect a huge turnout of locals next year!!”

Not the Mayor of Wantage – still happy nonetheless.

Round Five – Exposure Lights Big Night Out/Scott MTB-Marathon, 12-13th September 2015, Ruthin, North Wales.

“One of the longest standing fixtures on our calendar has always been a firm favourite, those of you that dipped your toe in Wantage will undoubtedly be keen to follow us north to finish the season with a bang. Anyone entering from now until midnight on Sunday 23rd August will go into the draw for a set of Hope brakes and pair of Schwalbe tyres worth £400! Why not try the night ride, or both with the weekend pass automatically discounted when you check out.”
