Fort William Mountain Bike DH 2015 Teaser

As the 2015 UCI Mountain Bike World Cup season kicks-off this weekend at Lourdes in France, it will soon be time for Fort William fans to dust off their Singletrack cow bells and get ready to cheer on their heroes once again.

To whet your appetite for the forthcoming World Cup series and remind you of the guaranteed excitement and anticipation to come at the Fort William leg of the tour from 6-7 June, check out the new atmospheric 2015 Fort William promo film from Cut Media – the makers of Danny MacAskill’s epic films, including The Ridge.

Despite the remoteness of Fort William that didn’t stop around 9000 fans attending the event last year. In fact it’s been consistently voted as the top event of the annual DH race calender by both teams and riders for the last few years. We will be there this year, as we have been for over a decade to report, shoot and twitter the blinkingflip out of the racing. We love it so much that we have a dedicated Twitter account just for this event. Check out and then follow @STWFortBill and be ready for full on sarcastic, middle aged commentary of youngsters doing what we wish we could do. With that kind of coverage, who needs awesome live video from Red Bull.. eh? eh?

Mark Alker

Singletrack Owner/Publisher

Mark has been riding mountain bikes for over 30 years and co-owns Singletrack, where he's been publisher for 25 years. While his official title might be Managing Director, his actual job description is "whatever needs doing" – from wrangling finances and keeping the lights on to occasionally remembering to ride bikes for fun rather than just work. He's seen the sport evolve from rigid forks to whatever madness the industry dreams up next, and he's still not entirely sure what "gravel" is. When he's not buried in spreadsheets or chasing late invoices, he's probably thinking about his next ride.
