Fresh Goods Friday 225

by 13

Things are beginning to return to normal here at ST Towers after holidays and hangovers and deadlines (although the latter two happen throughout the year). But we console ourselves preparing the feast of bike-related goodness we’ve laid out before you in this week’s Fresh Goods Friday!

Bikes

A couple of bikes came in this week for an upcoming biketest:

Merino Jerseys

Lots and lots of merino jerseys – these are all destined for issue 96’s grouptest. Also featuring the many grumpy (but startlingly attractive – sorry ladies, he’s taken) faces of Barney, who is allergic to outside (cold and wet and probably hungover knowing him), and the happy face of Jenn, who has a day off today.

RST Forks

We’ve had a selection of RST’s finest forks in – we’ll be strapping them to a variety of bikes and riding them hard in the name of keen-eyed hawk-nosed (Spock eared? – Ed) journalism.

Barney Marsh takes the word ‘career’ literally, veering wildly across the road of his life, as thoroughly in control as a goldfish on the dashboard of a motorhome. He’s been, with varying degrees of success, a scientist, teacher, shop assistant, binman and, for one memorable day, a hospital laundry worker. These days, he’s a dad, husband, guitarist, and writer, also with varying degrees of success. He sometimes takes photographs. Some of them are acceptable. Occasionally he rides bikes to cast the rest of his life into sharp relief. Or just to ride through puddles. Sometimes he writes about them. Bikes, not puddles. He is a writer of rongs, a stealer of souls and a polisher of turds. He isn’t nearly as clever or as funny as he thinks he is.
