What made our ‘it’s all about the enduro’ Richard’s top ten? Read on and find out…

Yeti SB6c

My eyes!
My eyes!

I’ve been a fan of Yetis for a while now, I was blown away by how good the SB66 was, so it’s fair to say I was a little excited when the SB6c was launched. Out of the three bikes that I’ve chosen this is the one I’ve had a quick spin on, and yes it left me wanting more: a lot more. Full carbon frame, 160mm of rock demolishing radness combined with XC pedalling, and it comes in an eye wateringly beautiful fluoro green.

Michelin Wild Rock’R2

Rock R2 Roll
Rock R2 Roll

I’m the first to admit that I’m a bit hard on tyres so the promise of reinforced casings and plenty of grip sounds good to me.

Cannondale Jekyll Carbon Team

It's Jerome's own
It’s Jerome’s own

There’s no question about it, this bike can be ridden fast – very fast. On paper the Jekyll is one of those bikes that should pedal well, be light to handle on decents, and inspire you to ride on the edge of your limits.

ENVE M70

Dear Santa....
Dear Santa….

Come on, admit it – if you had the money Enve wheels would be the wheel upgrade you’d go for, and the M70 with it’s downhill focus should fit nicely with my riding style.

Transition Scout

Giddy Up!
Giddy Up!

I spent quite a lot of time at Eurobike and The Cycle show looking at the Transition range. They  just really caught my eye: nice colours, long and low. It’s been a tough call picking the Scout over the Patrol; what made my mind up is that I feel having a matching 125mm back end with a 140mm fork would be plenty of bike for most situations, and it looks like a right good laugh!

Shimano XTR Trail

This one goes to, etc, etc
This one goes to, etc, etc

I’m a fan of choice and I think the new XTR group set gives me the choice (and bling) I’m looking for, with the ability to run a 1×11, 2×11 or (I don’t know why you’d do it) 3×11 set up.

Evoc FR Porter Hydration Backpack

Commute protection
Commute protection

I really like the idea of a back protector for when you’re in amongst the morning traffic, a bit of extra protection in a SMIDSY, so the FR Porter fits the bill nicely.

Northwave Spider Plus 2

Good grippy shoes are just the thing for mountain use, but I don’t want that to compromise on the bike performance. I need to know more about this collaboration between shoe and tyre manufacturers.

Fancy a roll up?
Fancy a roll up?

Between the roll up knee protection and the tasty new helmet there’s a lot of innovation going on at Seven iDP that promises to deliver to some top products and I’m keen to give them a go to see how they perform.

Full on hooded mountain protection form the elements. If you’re heading up it’s good to know you can weather a storm if one heads your way.
