Midweek Mini Movies 218

by 5

It’s another generous helping of visual stimulation to keep you ready for riding at the weekend.

Sad news about JP Auclair means we’re opening this week’s film selection with a classic bit of street action. It may be skiing but it always makes us want to ride our bikes whenever we watch it.

JP Auclair Street Segment (from All.I.Can.)

…in memory of one of the greatest humans ever created, truly, JP Auclair. An unbelievable skier, one of the absolute all-time best – but skiing was just a sliver of his talents, and the gifts he gave our world. His brilliantly creative mind understood the essence of progression, but it was his incredibly humble, kind, and humorous nature that brought it to reality. Hard working, optimistic, and always caring – for the environment, for humanity, for friends and family. This world needs more people like you my friend.

So good we gave it it’s own story, here it is if you missed it…

Cam Zink to attempt world record back-flip on an MTB

When it comes to going huge on a mountain bike there’s no one quite like Cam Zink, 28, who last year landed a 78-foot step-down backflip during a harrowing run at one of the world’s premier freeride mountain bike events. Now he’ll be stepping it up, launching 100 feet from a 15-foot-high dirt ramp to a 25-foot-high landing and aiming for an official Guinness World Record for the longest dirt-to-dirt mountain bike backflip.

Mountain of Hell Qually run

Finally……this is my qualifying run for Mountain of Hell, Les 2 Alps France. July 2014. This is by far the best trail/riding ive done to date. Amazing terrain and incredible scenery. Helmet cam will never do it justice or show just how insanely steep it was. I put some captions in to kinda explain whats going on, but I was leading from about half way onwards, but got overtaken on the flat/uphill sprint to the end. Ended up third. Happy with that as I literally had no energy left crossing the line and collapsed. Wrecked. Might train next year….
