This week, we introduce Muddybum Bikes
Muddybum Bikes is a specialist bike shop in Cardiff that caters for MTB sales, service and repair.
Sam takes up the story. ”We are situated just off J32 (M4) and nestled in the foothills of the north Cardiff Alps. Perfectly located for some of the best Singletrack South Wales has on offer and run by two local brothers, that’s me, Sam and brother Ben who are equally as handsome and witty as the other.
We carry the right brands with the right advice, at the right prices to set you up for some of the best riding in the UK!”
What’s your current best-selling/hottest product?
If it’s bikes, we are mad about Whyte and Transition. Two brands that take different approaches but achieve similarly top results. With our parts and accessories ranges, it’s anything with POC, Renthal or Schwalbe written on it!
What kit does every member of staff have on their bike?
Like the rest of the MTB world, we’ve been bitten by the dropper post bug. We love Reverb posts and Schwalbe Muddy Mary’s up front for winter/spring riding out our way.
Tell us about demo bikes. What about custom builds?
We’re pretty spoilt for test bikes right now. Our current line up includes the following: Transition Covert (Large), Transition Bandit, 26″ wheels (Medium), Transition Klunker – you’ve got to try this! and a Mondraker Foxy XR (Medium) – also a must try!
As for custom builds, it’s a pleasure to work with our customers on creating their dream machines. A picture tells a thousand words. Here’s our Ben’s lovely Transition Covert Carbon. You know where to come to talk custom builds, enough said.
Tell us something about your shop/staff that no one knows…
That’s a secret for a very good reason! We’re over on Twitter and Facebook where a few trade secrets do sometimes leak out, so come say hello over in the digital world. Otherwise our website is currently being refreshed behind the scenes and should be going live later this week. It’s all go here.
Is there local riding you think our readers should know more about?
Thursday evenings is when you’ll normally catch us out and about on the MTB’s, with every second Thursday of the month soon to be designated our official shop ride – so watch this space! On Tuesday’s you may also catch us donning some fetching lycra and riding our road bikes. Just don’t judge us!
What do Singletrack Premier Subscribers get from you guys?
Singletrack Premier readers benefit from 5% off bikes and 10% off parts/accessories, plus 10% off labour in our Cytech Workshop on production of a valid Singletrack Members Card.
