Monday Morning Debrief 24

Here’s our delayed for the Bank Holiday Debrief…

Dirty boy

It turned out to be quite a busy week last week with a trip to the Italian Mediterranean town of Finale Ligure for the E Thirteen Enduro Press Camp. The E Thirteen boys have a great attitude to these things with the first day turning into a 9am – 6pm shuttling session and not a single powerpoint in sight.

Shuttling’s easy right? Think again. Before lunch we’d covered 25k of some pretty full on descents with a full smorgasbord of dry and dusty, wet and muddy, loose rock, roots, wet roots, berms and jumps often all on the same trail. After a very pleasant Italian lunch stop it was the same again, finishing with a full descent of the mountain into the town below.

It's a hard life

Day two saw a loop of the 24hrs of Finale course, probably the most scenic 24 hour course you’ll ever ride. A good mix of singletrack, more roots, rocks, techy drops and climbs all with amazing views out of the Med. Another lunch stop then an afternoon spent riding the descents back into town.

I ain't ever going back Thelma

Good hard riding and the opportunity to finish on the beach? What’s not to like?

Bluebells just out of shot

Back home and straight into a bank holiday equals total win in my book. A good opportunity to try the Turner Burner on a more familiar mix of trails. Sun shining, warmth and surprisingly three rides where we hardly saw a soul. Where was everyone? Trails that turned out to be a fair bit drier than the Italian ones I’d been riding in the week.

Rock and roots

4pm on Monday the rain arrives and provides an excuse to round the weekend off with a beer. Perfect.

How was your weekend? Where did you go and what did you get up to?
