104 Bronson: Design, Engineering & Product Development
After 20 years, Santa Cruz Bicycles is moving from our birthplace in the old cannery, on 104 Bronson Street, to a new factory across town.
Why should you care? Well, maybe you shouldn’t. But it’s kind of a big deal to us. So we captured a series of weekly installments as a snapshot of where we are today.
Here, we introduce the Design, Engineering & Product Development team.
Some of them may already be familiar, thanks to the footfall of journalists we’ve had over the years. But for those who don’t know us, this is the place to start.

The Joy of Air
Leave the ground beneath your feet,
Rise up, your inner legend greet.
A body in motion –
Twisting, turning, churning, yearning –
Apex found, heaven bound.
But remember, what goes up must come down.
Director Bryan Smith of Reel Water Productions explores the concept of catching air across a variety of sports. Words by Fitz Cahall.
Thanks to everyone that sent in suggestions this week. If you’ve seen or made anything you reckon should be up here next time, the address is, as ever: newsdesk@singletrackworld.com.
And remember: Keep feeling fascination, yeah?

Nice one Pete, I wish you luck.
the bike spike seems a nice idea, but it could really do with being located inside the bike, as it looks too easy to remove otherwise.
not sure how you’d do that mind you….
you hide it like this – http://www.integratedtrackers.com/GPSTrack/Spybike.jsp
Pete is an inspiration, good luck fella.
Bike spike made me laugh- that’s a funny advert, looks like a good idea aswell.
What a great little video the joy of air was too- thanks for putting that up!
