Bearded Man are proud to announce the ‘very best of the Black Mountains’ in one unmissable MTB event – 29th June to 1st July 2012.
The Black Mountains 3 Day MTB endurance event returns for a second year to the Brecon Beacons National Park in South Wales next summer for what is set to be an unforgettable weekend of fun on and off the bike.
Set amongst incredible scenery and offering an action packed weekend of challenging but rewarding riding, the Black Mountains 3 Day is a fully serviced and way marked event to challenge any level of rider.
With a perfect mix of physical and technical challenges accompanied by unsurpassed moorland and forest views and, of course, the great company of other riders, the Black Mountains 3 Day has already established itself as a favourite in the MTBers calendar since launching last year.
The 2012 event will start with a 13km evening time trial lap of the Glanusk Estate on Friday 29th June. Saturday will then see the riders take on a 70km course across the Black Mountains for that true remote wilderness feel. With 2300m of vertical ascent, riders will need their climbing legs on before enjoying the rewards of some of the country’s best downhill and singletrack sections. Sunday will then see tired legs refreshed and ready to head out on a 68km that includes the legendary Gap route and some 1800m of climbing.
Entry for the event includes one three man tent per rider, secure bike storage, breakfast and dinner as well as feed stations fully stocked with Torq Energy products, fruit and water. Riders will also have access to masseurs and bike servicing facilities to fix and mend any tired limbs and bikes at each day’s end.
The weekend entry, accommodation and food package offers incredible value for a three-day event at £180 per rider. You can also bring along a non-riding companion to keep you company and enjoy some beers with each night. The cost for the companion is £70 but this also includes food and tent accommodation.
Entries are open now and more details can be found at www.blackmountains3day.co.uk where you can also register to take part. Full course details can also be found on the site with .gpx files available for all riders nearer the time.
You can also receive regular updates from the organisers’ facebook (Bearded Man) and Twitter feeds (@BeardedManNews).

– fixed that, thank you. Clearly whoever put the story up was feeling a little less than optimistic about their fitness 😉
Same weekend as Pass’Portes – good timing.
