by 15

EDIT: THESE BIKES WERE STOLEN FROM OUR ROTHERHAM WAREHOUSE!

JE James Cycles Bikes Warehouse Burglary

JE James Cycles had their warehouse broken into on Sunday 22nd August between the hours of 1.40am and 4.00am. They are currently fixing the damage caused by the thieves, but in the burglary had nearly 100 bikes stolen. Andy Liversidge of JE James Cycles sent us this press release.

After the trauma of Sunday evening, the damage caused by the thieves is being fixed and extra precautions are promptly being put into place to stop such criminal activity. The thieves stole 97 bikes in total, all of which were boxed and not built which makes this the biggest break in that we’ve ever experienced. The bikes were loaded in to two vans before the criminals fled the scene in the early hours of Sunday morning. One of the vans was a silver transit van, and the other was a white Iveco transit van. I’d like to inform our online customers that this will not affect our daily duties and orders will still be despatched and processed as normal. Any of our customers who have already placed orders that will be affected by this incident will be contacted as soon as possible.

The bikes we had stolen were a mixture of Giants and Dahon’s, so if you see anything then let us know.

The stolen list:

Giant Talon 3 2010
16” x 3
18” x 33
20” x 36

Giant Talon 3 Womens 2010
13.5” x 1
16” x 4
18” x 1

Dahon Matrix Folding Bike 09

If anyone can offer information we would highly appreciate the help, if you see or hear anything suspicious please call or email us with the details.. Many thanks for reading.

That’s a big haul. No doubt they’ll be doing the rounds on housing estates for £50 each

Biggest number of bikes we’ve ever lost, no doubt one of the biggest haul’s the trade has seen in a long time too. If anyone has any information then please contact us. Thanks for reading guys.

    absolute scumbags.

i havent been cycling for long but there seems to be a LOT of bikes being stolen from shops lately. Is this something thats on the increase?

That’s a lot of bikes to sell on, especially the 20″ size.

So they should be easy to spot in the usual classified places hopefully.

I hope you get some information that leads to a conviction and you get the stock back.

This is why costs escalate due to the monority who prefer to steal what is not theirs and think it is ok to steal from shops etc!!

    Good luck

    What Ar$seHole$.
Not in the same league, but I’ve had two bikes nicked over the years and it always makes me really angry, whenever i hear about any bike theft. Always feel the need to go re-check my own Security too.

    Thieving little oiks.
Will keep an eye out, hope you catch the oiks!

bet they are already on their way to Europe

Is it my imagination or is Yorkshire experiencing a fairly heavy bike theft wave this last year or so?

If you spot any suspicious looking bikes, please contact JE James directly, rather than posting on the forum. Thieves read forums too, and we don’t want to let them know when they’ve been rumbled…

people who buy nicked bikes are worse than those who steal them, the crimes only occur to feed the market

Thats not the same warehouse that you were showing pictures of a while back? Bad idea.

Our warehouse isn’t on show jd-boy. So to claim thieves would find it from a photograph off a press release is not really a point worth concentrating on to be honest. This is unless you know something different?

I thought the Talon was a UK specific model? Might be easier to notice if they surface abroad.

No Know nothing, as I said did not know if it was your warehouse, but I just thought at the time thats not the kind of thing you need to promote, as for saying people would not find it from a press release Photo, dont be so sure, if folks now areas they will know were building are.

jd BOY, if i showedyou a picture of a house and what it looked like inside could you tell me where its location was? I doubt it.
