The Marin Roughride 2009 – Sunday, June 14th

by 0

Just a reminder that this year’s Marin Roughride is on Sunday June 14th, one week later than 2008.

The start is on the moor this year taking out the road climb from the town.

The Marin test fleet will be available from Saturday lunchtime for try outs.

The event is a laid back ride across the open hills of the Welsh borders, there is no forestry. Riders return year after year which makes for a really good atmosphere.

The family friendly campsite, with wonderful views of the surrounding hills, is on the edge Hergest Ridge, above the tiny market town of Kington.

The event costs £27.50 for advance entry, which includes camping, event T-shirt and post-ride meal, courtesy of Wilfs.

Visit the website (www.roughride.co.uk) for further details and entry.

Orange Switch 6er. Stif Squatcher. Schwalbe Magic Mary Purple Addix front. Maxxis DHR II 3C MaxxTerra rear. Coil fan. Ebikes are not evil. I have been a writer for nigh on 20 years, a photographer for 25 years and a mountain biker for 30 years. I have written countless magazine and website features and route guides for the UK mountain bike press, most notably for the esteemed and highly regarded Singletrackworld. Although I am a Lancastrian, I freely admit that West Yorkshire is my favourite place to ride. Rarely a week goes by without me riding and exploring the South Pennines.
