Sunday morning Nihari at This ‘n’ That:

Needs a very slight hangover, two kebabs, naan & salad for the full ‘Fat Lad Starter Kit’ experience.

    Heaven.

Apple Crumble for dessert (with custard, proper Birds custard made from powder, not that poncy runny sauce, nor premade carton cack)

Probably home made Thai curry for main course (made from a recipe from my former local award winning Thai restaurant in Holland)

I try not to think of food like this – it’s just fuel for the machine 🙂

However when I do it’s Apple Crumble with Birds Custard every time!!

A really good burger and chips. Not a mass produced, McD’s job, oh no, I’m talking hand made with steak mince, crispy bacon, strong cheddar, charred bun and some really good chips.

Or tartiflette with a bottle of heavy duty red wine.

On the pud front, I reckon rhubarb trumps apple (when home-made best with a bit of cinnamon in the fruit and desiccated coconut in the crumble)

^^ or gooseberry crumble too (but apple’s the one I make the most)

^^ fish+chips is the dinner I miss the most (no chippies in this country)

Too many to choose from but certainly not one from a food chain, not that I don’t use them but it’s far from my favourite food.

I don’t know what they’re called as we can’t communicate other than rudimentary greetings 😀

Warm chiabata, cherry toms roasted in the oven, 6 good quality sausages, homemade caramalised onions, brown sauce. Done.

Matt, I reckon I can see casing just to the outside of the lid.

    Benefit of the doubt? 🙂

You need your eyes tested. You can clearly see two layers of pastry.

OK, as you were. It appears you both understood my valid concern though.

Edit – now I’ve been put right, that does look bloody lovely.

Really depends on my mood, no real outright favourite. Never say no to a good thai curry though.

Not convinced that’s a real pie to be honest, might be another one of those gastro-pub pretend things. Best thing to do is to serve me up a portion and pop it in the post and I’ll pass judgement. Paypal gift ok?

Roast beef and Yorkshire pudding takes some beating. Or roast chicken and stuffing. Or a good quality Chinese takeaway. They’re defo top 3. Can be in any order to be honest.

what makes your favourite meal your favourite? for me it’s:
    – taste
    – gluttony
    – convenience
    – quick to prepare
    – badness
