We've got a road trip next May (or a Mini adventure, as my car manufacturer calls it) down to Nice, and we're looking for suggestions on a mid-trip overnight stay on the way.

Any options greatly appreciated, but not the Loire valley as we've been there loads of times before on other trips. Don't mind if it's not the most direct of trips down either, as long as it's not a massive detour.
