  • Weekly photo challenge. 4.2.13 – 10.2.13 – Fly tipping
  • Fly tipping and other trailside rubbish this week.

    The rules;
    1. Take a photo of your bike with something that matches the theme in the picture.
    2. Interpret the theme any way you like.
    3. Pictures should be taken between the dates in the topic title.
    4. If you post a picture you can either suggest a theme for next weeks challenge or vote for someone else’s suggestion. First suggestion to get two supporting votes becomes next weeks theme, probably

Cycled past 3 of my local tipping spots, nothing ❗
The daft thing is with these spots is that they are less than a mile from the local recycling/refuse amenity 🙄

That hypo is nasty stuff, would be inclined to report location 💡

That must be a long commute if your bike has to have a sit down half way. 😯

I like this continuing thread, but ths weeks topic is really depressing and gets me annoyed about some members of the (almost) human race.

Yeah, it is depressing but it happens. One of the great things about Bristol is that you can be out of the city, on country roads in about 10 mins by bike. Unfortunately that also means that flytipping is quite common in those areas. I’ll be trying to get some pics this weekend then…

Depressing indeed, I could have stopped and taken a lot of pics this morning, but I had to get to work 😕

Like Trekster, I often wonder why people go miles out into the countryside to drop shite when there’s a perfectly good tip nearby!

Did not have a camera with me on one particular cycle ride I did a few years back but I came across the worst case of fly tipping I had ever seen 🙁
I was on the cycle lane which runs adjacent to the A59 near Clitheroe in Lancs when we had to get off our bikes to climb over a large pile of Asbestos roofing sheets which had been tipped. Anyone who uses this road will know that it is approx 3/4mtrs wide and there was no space to pass so climbing over was the only option.
I checked the local paper for months but did not see anything about anyone getting caught, would have been good to see someone sent down for that.

Someone’s dumped an unwanted railway line? 😯

As others have said, it takes more effort to dump this lot where they have than to take it to the tip 😡

I had hoped this was going to be a bit like cow tipping… disappointed

Blimey, there’s some impressive (as in impressively bad) examples of fly tipping here … 👿

This is all I could find this week – I usually end up finding much more, but not this week.

… ‘An before anyone is tempted to mention it, the fly-tipping is the small pile of bricks and discarded coffee cups, not my Duncon…

    😉

I somehow couldn’t find anything to take a photo of this week! I guess that means I need to explore some new roads.
