  • Vegetable growers – leaving a plot fallow

We’ve been doing a few vegetables in a plot at home for about 10 years now. It’s about 8’x20′. Usually squeeze in a couple of rows each of potatos, various beans, leaks, onions, peas, carrots, lettuce.

The last couple of years we’ve had a lot of problems with bugs and diseases, even though we’ve been rotating crops around the plot each year.

I’m pondering whether to give it a year off, to give it a chance to recover? Can a plot just get worn out, or is it the gardener?
