  • Vailant combi boiler controller – owt simpler?

Mil has had a valiant combi installed. The control panel needs a phd in rocket surgery to understand.
I know I’m a bit fick, but holey moley it’s complicated to work.
Are there any simpler 3rd party controllers which could replace it?

Oh and we’ve all RTFM, but it’s still too much.

dunno, but I had a house with a Vaillant in once. Great boiler but used to fail quite often and nobody (at the British Gas 4 star service hit-squad 🙄 ) could work out why. Eventually got a proper geezer in who said that whoever had fitted it had the wrong controller. Apparently didn’t use a “normal” earthing route, but was the opposite.

Was years ago, but choose carefully or get someone who does Vaillant routinely to advise you.

I’m sure any 12 year old would gladlly take the price of a new progammer to teach you how to use it.

You are quite right the controllers are very difficult to use

I fit Honeywell CM927 RF controllers instead….very easy to use.

Get it professionally fitted as there will be a bit of wiring involved

No idea but I wish they’d take the scaffolding down from the factory, it’s a bleeding eyesore.

Thanks guys. I’ll get onto the heating engineer on Monday.
Oliverd, I suspect you’ve never used one. If you have, I bow to your superior intellect.
