It’s a fascinating disc brake thread!

Is there an adaptor available to convert Shimano brakes (new Deores) to work with 183mm rotors? At present the rotor is hitting the calliper, and there doesn’t appear to be a proper Shimano adaptor that will sort it.

1.5mm of washers between the mount and the caliper?

Currently using this, but it doesn’t seem to be working that well. Don’t know if that is due to poor contact between the pad/rotor or other issues. In any case it would be nice to have a non-bodge solution, adapters aren’t that expensive really.

I’m just using washers on my setup with 183 floaters and LX brakes.

    Works fine.

Might try a Hope 183 adaptor though.

If you ask Hope nicely they will make you a 180mm rotor, they did for me.

Not much consolation but wiggle (used to?) carry the 180mm as stock.

Hope type-B for rear, type-H for front.
