    Hi,

How many of you touch up chips/scratches on your frames an forks?

I’ve just been stripping and rebuilding the rear end of my FSR and touched up a lot of chips with colour nail varnish. I’ve used it on the frame before and it seems to dry rock solid.

I bought a Kona Blink the classified here a couple of months ago. Somethings make me think it’s been lovingly jet washed after every ride, and loads of paint was missing around the bottom bracket and chainstays. So I put a coat of Kurust around there and painted it with black smootherite. Not very pretty, but hopefully effective.

I was expecting some kind of perversion. Never mind.

Yes, I tend to use a spot of nail varnish on chips, or if it’s a simple black or white that needs touching in, then the little car paint pens from Halfords are pretty good.

I use those little car paint touch up thingys which seem to be available in most colours except the sand colour* my Inbred 853 came in.

I vaguely remember seeing a Datsun or Austin Allegro painted in that colour about thirty years ago 😕
