Six months a go I was told my post was to disappear under a reorganisation and I would be made redundant. As I was about a month from resigning you can imagine my joy at the prospect of a pay-off which was quite handsome after 34 years service. And I get a pension and retain some other benefits. A very lucky (middle aged) boy indeed!
So today I had a short lie in, received a nice txt from Markenduro (told him to get back to work;-)) and then went for a 105k in glorious sunshine on my Roadrat. Cafe was quiet and I enjoyed a lovely caramel slice at Breedon-on-the-Hill. This afternoon packed my bags for a 3 week trip to the USA with Mrs B.
Already I feel less stressed and not as tired as I have recently and really looking forward to the future. First big aim is the Tour Divide in 2011. May tour it see as I do not have any reason to be back in a hurry.
A chance to live the dream.....
