The ones that look like they’re already rusty – have a slight orangy coating to them….what are they called specifically to buy just as inner cables?

They are polymer coated to give them a super slippery coating. The coating does come off but still works well.

    £13 RRP each

Have had some success useing sram pit stop stainless cables in my own 105 11 speed
The sram ones are 1.1 mm so a little thinner.
But my bike does not have internal frame routing

So £26 worth of inner cables on ~£175rrp shifters??

Are the PTFE ones the same or are they something different again. Cost wise the ones on CRC are more like it!

    The PTFE cables are different.

I’m just using standard ashima inners on my rs685 shifters. Work fine.

PTFE ones were the top quality ones until the new polymer ones on this yrs stuff. When my polymer ones need replaced I’m planning on using PTFE ones as I have a load of new unused ones.

I can only see DuraAce polymer ones for sale – do they sell the “105” variant?

I don’t think that there is a specific 105 variant. There is the Ultegra 6800 that retails at £12.99 and Dura Ace 9000 that retails at £16.99
