One of my mates took one on Saturday of me with an SLX crank arm attached to my boot. A crank arm I had installed, which had worked its way off its splines altogether. That probably sums it up.

I knocked this together in my spare time:

I’d rate myself as “fairly” handy with the spanners…… 😉

Ive been known to knock up a few things now and then.

But also take things a little too literally. 3x cross you say?

maxtorque, I’ve saw you post that beast in previous threads on here – excellent work, go straight to the top of the class and take a well deserved holiday (ps…you don’t fancy doing some remedial work to a 30yr old MK2 Golf do you? ) 😉

From this 2 years ago :

Engine and gearbox was removed the following day

After £4k of uprated parts (engine/suspension/braking) thrown at it and extensive chassis welding underneath it turned into this :

And this year i have turned it back into this after deciding to replace the entire lower exterior of the car due to rust :

    Removed the back panel

    New rear panel fitted

Cut out every bit of rust i found which turned into rather more work than i had planned for

Inner and outer + lower sills fitted on both sides

Rear arches to fit either side

Lower door skins to fit either side

New front valence to fit along with all new bumpers and plastic trims/window+door seals/decals and of course a full spray job….should be finished in the next two months (hopefully) , sometimes i think i should’ve just taken the easy option and spent the money on a modern Golf R32, but then that’d be too sensible for me.

That pic of the golf door on the wooden table just makes me think “French polishers? It’s just possible you could save my life”

    Fivespot – that is lovely.

    3 Q’s.

    1. What is it?
    2. How much would it cost?
    3. Is it/could it be road legal?

    🙂

I’ve always found that a tidy working environment helps enormously.

Sadly, I rarely seem to achieve it.

My grandad used to have a proper epic workbench, when we helped him clear it up one time we found a whole rat skeleton buried in it. Thanks for that grandad.

1)Its a Triumph Tiger Cub (199cc) in Trials trim.
2)One like this would be anywhere from £2,500 to £4,000
3)Yes it could be made road legal
