My LH shifter has developed a bit of an issue.

It changes up the rings just fine, however when you go to change down the lever presses ok, but the front mech doesn't move all the way down to the next ring, if you move the bigger lever forwards you feel a small click and the mech drops into place.

The mech moves fine when moved by hand and the cable is slack/disconnected and the cables aren't jamming anywhere on their route.

Any ideas?

Have you got a bent lever rubbing against the other by any chance, another thing to check is that the shifter isn't being pressed by the brake lever, this def. causes problems with Deore shifters, not sure about X5s.

The levers are placcy.
