Both me and a friend are experiencing issues with rival/force calipers, the spring that holds the pads in place keep getting dragged out of the caliper somehow leaving the brake unusable and not doing the rotors or pads much good. Anyone had the same issue ?

I’ve had similar on mtb, but the issue was caused by user error in my case- pad springs not properly registered and jamming wheel back in causing rotor to deform spring.

You aren’t reusing springs when you replace pads, are you?

Ive not replaced them yet it happened to me for the first time today but it has been a recurring problem for my mate who says hes taken great care to install the springs correctly. He bent back and reused the springs first and then as that didn’t work he bought new pads with new springs but it still happened again.

Running the pads too low? Just got my set of Rival brakes but the Christmas post is slowing down the rest of my build!
