  • Sprained wrist and radial head fracture – advice? Rest? Physio?

Big over the bars at 30mph 10 days ago. Doc showed a slight fracture line in radial head on X-ray but elbow hasn’t been too bad pain wise.
Wrist still very sore with limited movement. Pain on trying to squeeze something.
Not much swelling but hand and fingers shades of black blue and brown.
Tried exercising hand by gripping a foam ball yesterday but left me in a lot of pain.
Wondering if just a matter of rest or whether I should be seeing a physio?
Family holiday in Morzine in a weeks time……

A few years ago I was told I had sprained my wrist going OTB. After a week, not getting any better so went for another X-ray and scan, found Scaphoid broken.
Wrist pinned and back on bike 6 weeks later.

I should add if this is the problem, tell your doctor you ride bikes and compete as some level. You are more likely to be treated with a quick Op and a single screw. Better than natural in a plaster for 8 weeks.

    Hope it’s sorted soon.

Wrist was xrayed at the time in A&E though have an appointment in the fracture clinic on Thursday.
