Currently looking at Specialized epic frames. They come with a 142+ rear hub. I believe the + means the drive side flange is 2mm further out. Trouble for me is the Spesh Hi Lo hub seems quite heavy at around 380grams. Now I have a Sun/Ringle Dirty Flea hub which is much lighter and I had confirmed today it can be converted to 142. My question is will the 2mm extra width in the flange make any difference. Really thinking chain line more than wheel stiffness. Sorry if it’s a dumb question but don’t want to get the wheel built and then find I have problems if I should really be using a 142+ hub with that frame.

I’m using a pro II in my epic no issues at all, used the converter kit on the rear to make it bolt through.
