A dull, rather than hugely musical reason I'm afraid... The Akai is borrowed (and helped persuade me that loopers are fun) and I've stuck it in for the moment as it has tap-tempo, which my regular delay doesn't.

Lovely Les Paul. A proper Jeff Beck model? Or just an homage?
And a proper old Strat too? Or Custom Shop? Nice guitars...

just sold this:

Now I've just got these:

No photos of my other stuff unfortunately. I've got a Laney world series 120w half stack and assorted old effects.

Chipps, the Strat is a Fender custom shop relic. The Les Paul was bought about 10 years ago. It's obviously modelled on the Jeff Beck 'blow by blow' guitar, but it's not the JB signature one.right...off to try the Blue Jam!

I wish I could afford a nice guitar.
at the moment all my money is going on bikes. once my on-one is built up im gonna get a nice acoustic but at the mo i have a £30 charity shop classical which sounds a hell of alot better than £500 acoustics iv tried and the same as £500 classicals.
It also doubles up as a tool to hit my brother with

@ Tyger...Holy Shit, think that's the trump card

What's the '62 like compared to a reissue? I've never played an 'old' guitar
Posted 1 year ago # -
Well, I'm 47 years old so I'm guessing that my hearing isn't as good as what it used to be but even I can hear that the tone is, well, awesome.
He bought it 2 days after I was born (Oct '62) and it holds a tremendous sentimental value for me but I know that Dad wouldn't have wanted it not to be played so, rightly or wrongly, I'm actually gigging with it although I don't shout about the fact that it's an original.

@tyger - **** that strat is fabulous. The real McCoy! What a beauty. It's great that you're playing it too.

tyger - what happened to the 62 strat you were kind of recreating from bits? think it was you who posted about it last year. Project still ongoing - or abandoned now you have the real thing?

Nice one Tyger. One to cherish.
