doesn't matter what the subject is, or what they are selling.... i want some good examples of website deisgn so that i can get a few good ideas for my website.

as yet i've not even started working on the layout. i need to design something simple, yet slick. only a two or maybe three pages showing my work and what i can do, a gallery plus a contact page.

anything would be welcome... many thanks!

A friend's simple & effective site: Translation services

But I dislike her photo - what do you reckon to it?

I suggest your translator friend ask someone to proof read her site, Moses. An example:

Article on textile by Chris Dercon for Tate

Article on textiles for the Tate.

Unless of course she submitted an article by Chris Deacon on a piece of cloth.

There are some *really* good resources on http://www.goodui.org/

I wish I could convince a few clients to follow some of the rules here!!

Quite a few of my pet hates in their 'how not to' column.

I've quit ordering on no end of sites when they require 150 form fields filled in. I basically just want to pay via Paypal and they get the delivery address etc from PP and I don't have to fill in anything.
