  • SHimano Shoes, XC50 or XC60's?

I’m going to buy myself a nice shiney pair of summer spd shoes, and I’m looking at these two models. Price, I’m OK with, but as I’m not a racer, I’m wondering if the XC60 is going to be an uncomfortable, ultra stiff carbon nightmare of a shoe with the XC50 loosing a little in weight and stiffness but gaining in comfort. Any real world experience before I hit the buy button?
And, having had Shimano for the last 15odd years, any other brands I should check out?

Bought some M162s last year I think they’re trailtastic. Stiff enough and light enough to make a difference and yet all-day comfortable. Easy to walk in and pleasantly airy without being over-ventilated. Orsum.

That’s a very good steer. Thanks for that rocketman!

tbh the XC50s looked and felt virtually identical to the 162s in the shop but IIRC it had a less aggressive (and lighter) sole. The 60s looked more XTR IYKWIM

    Sizing was fine I’m a 46 and Shimano’s 46 was fine.
