Quick update. Malverns last night. Very glad I’ve got 2×9, don’t think I’m manly enough for 1×10 even with a 36T ring. Needed granny for a couple of climbs.
On the downs, it was ace again, one rocky descent in particular is generally pretty lumpy and lively on a HT, much more controlled on the Solaris – still got bumped about obviously but felt it easier to hold a line. Got caught out a couple of times on brakes, defo takes longer to stop than the 456. Better than I expected on tight switchbacks – the more you just let it roll the better.
So two rides, both good. See if I can get a couple more in this weekend to really get to know it and what it can do. I suspect a lot more than I’m prepared to let it 😉
