Buy on the owner and history – not bogged down in model.
Yes, there can be a few ‘avoids’ on grounds of nowt but trouble.
Personally, Japanese/Asian from a caring, pampering owner with a file in date order of all receipts.

As mentioned, anything Honda/Toyota unless you enjoy visiting your local workshop regularly which is more liley the case with those frenchies.

German cars can be reliable, but can also be unreliable with silly repair prices. This is more the case with newer ones which appear to be designed to barely make it to the end of the warranty period or HP agreement. Poor second buyers will get a rude awakening.
