I’ve just got a saris bones 3 bike rack. Nice pice of kit.

The instructions say to mount the lower legs on the top of the bumper, I see why due to down force, I want to mount it higher, if I do this you can still see the lights. The lower legs will be on a firm bit of steel just below the window.
Is there any reason not to do this with a bones as I’ve previously fitted other racks at this height?.
