Hi all, looking at maybe getting a set of forks for an old OO 29″ scandal which is currently running 440mm rigid’s, I haven’t seen anything of interest in the classifieds so I was looking in to new forks.
Doe’s anyone have an opinion or links to better forks for the up to £300 range please?
They must be reasonably light & reliable, but not bothered about bells & whistles as once dialed I hardly ever touch my forks.

    Cheers

On a side note …. how do you find your Scandal with 440mm forks?

Well it’s the original one that was designed with them in mind, so fine really, maybe a touch steeper than I’m used to but you do get used to it.
    Cheers.

I’ve been impressed with my slides so far. the pressure guide is a little on the high side. but 4 rides and no complaints.

X-Fusion, a lot of fork for the money.

You don’t pay the extra badge cost of Fox or RS.

out of the box, they are nicely made, no short cuts on quality.
i’m running a 15mm axle and a tapered steerer, which is a pretty stiff combo, no rooty/rockie deflection with the big wheels.
the lock out on top of the fork leg is possitive, easy to use and find.
the rebound adjuster has a range of about 20 clicks, and they do make a difference.
i’m struggling for things to say really, as they are good forks and very good for around 300 notes. No dramas, all good 😀
give upgrade a call and see if they can do you a deal via your LBS, i had a FF29 and a pair of slides for a very comfortable deal
    cheers
