Bought a 28mm Schwalbe One to replace a holed 25mm, question is which wheel does it go on to work with the non-holed 25mm?

Sheldon Brown suggests the front for extra grip, especially when cornering.

A search of other road forums suggests some consensus for the rear for comfort as the rear wheel carries more weight than the front (but no particularly recent threads since we all went wider).

GCN did a pro-bike video from one of the early season Middle Eastern races (Dubai? Abu Dhabi?) where the Sky Dogma had a larger front than rear. As the kings of marginal gains was this for moar aero (teardrop, kammtails and other aerofoils have the leading edge wider than the trailing), or because that tiny effective change in the geo of the front end transformed it’s handling?

duuuh – bigger should go on the back, then you’re always rolling downhill innit

Mine’s on the front. Not a huge amount in it from Schwalbe 25 to 28. I reasoned better grip on poor surfaces. And that swapping tubeless was a pfaff.
